No janis, I haven't.
But now I started to think seriously about doing it.
I will leave for my vacation in a week's time and I will definitely post a report when I come back. It will be Germany and Romania, with a side trip to Basel.
When I return I will make myself busy with all the reports that are overdue.
Anyway, I have started to translate and fill in my 15 days Paris trip report of a few years ago: Art, Culture and Jim Morrison.

Forgot to mention a funny thing that happened to us on the road.
We were both inexperienced drivers, my wife had her licence longer than me, but just over one year.
We had just come out of Fort William and were heading north. We stopped at a gas station to fill up. Upon exit I told my wife: "now look right and turn left". She looked right, indeed, but somehow she turned right as well!!
We were on the highway, heavy traffic there, and a 16 wheeler was looming at a couple hundred metres in front of us.
"Reverse! Reverse! Reverse!" I was shouting... She kept on turning to the right, climbed on the pavement and there we were back in the gas station yard... Safe!
Now we have a big laugh whenever we think of it. It did add some spice to the charm of our holiday.
Such happenings become the best memories of a holiday and believe me, we have quite a few from our various trips.

You mentioned in another thread that you had been unsuccessful in getting access to Number 0 located in Kilwinning. I never thought I'd see Kilwinning mentioned on this board never mind the Mother Lodge!
If you are interested, the Number 0 now has it's own website at:

If you ever do return to the area please take the opportunity to visit the No.0 - it is very interesting.
It is also good that you checked out the ancient abbey ruins directly behind the temple. I found those particularly fascinating and they too now have a site at:-

Sounds like a great trip!
This isn't necessarily for the low-budget traveler, but we did this trip to Scotland - Golf & Whisky - was fantastic!
