I've been there, and it's a busy litle town so there's bound to be a place. What is your situation exactly? Are you coming in by bus for a few hours then leaving? Maybe give a hotel in the area a call and ask. There must be some kind of tourist office you could call as well.

Thank you for your response. Yes, I am coming by bus from Metsovo and planning to spend the night in Volos, and since Kalambaka is on the way, I wanted to visit the Meteora in the morning before taking the evening bus out to Volos. It would save me time from going to Volos and taking a day trip out to there. I don't want to spend the night in Kalambaka because I am already moving around to 6 hotels in 2 weeks which is enough and I'd like to stay in Volos and use it as a base to visit the Pelion.

I do not know about leaving your luggage, but I assume that with a bus station and/or tourist information that something can be arranged. I just wanted to say that the Pelion is beautiful. I love this area and the food is fabulous. We stayed in St Yanni's. The beach was little white marble pepples and the water is wonderful to swim in. The fresh water from the hills is wonderful to drink. There are a lot of hiking trails. Have a fabulous time.

Hi Yipper. I am going to the Pelion region and would appreciate any advice on towns to visit and things to do. What is the most prettiest village there in your opinion. Unfortunately, Fodors guide book contains nothing of the region and hard to find information on. Any other advice or tips you may have is much appreciated.

I think it is hard to find information on this area. I read an article about this area about 6 years ago and then 4 years ago I went with my extended family. My husband's mother was born in a town near Volos where we went to visit. I talked everyone into going to the Pelion. We were there for only a few days and therefore I did not see all of it. We had a car and the driving was curvy and narrow with no guard rails. I loved Makrinitsa. We ate at one of the restaurants in the town square twice. We stayed over night in ayios ioannis and it is a tourist summer place, but lovely. In the book "The Most Beautiful Villages of Greece", there is a section on the Pelion. It is different from a lot of Greece because it is so green and there is a lot of water coming down from Mt. Olympus. I think there are ferries that go from one of the small villages to some of the islands. I wish I could give you more information. Do a google search and see what happens. You will have a wonderful time.
