My first time to Spain and leaving on June 21 from SoCal. I have found a lot of helpful tips here, thank you. I'll be spending 2 weeks there. I'll base myself in Madrid and do some day trips and a couple of days in Seville and Granada. I'm hoping to watch a bullfight, flamenco dancing and eats lots of paella! I'm still looking at places to stay that's inexpensive.

emlazo,
For Madrid, check out Hostal Persal, great location and great value.

Persal is close to two of the best flamenco tablaos in town, Cardamomo and Casa Patas. One of the absolutely most exciting up and coming bailaoras, Belén López, dances at Cardamomo from 18th to 23rd of June. Tickets and info: http://www.cardamomo.es/index.php?junio

We're doing yet another Grand Tour of Europe for Summer 2010 & have already started in Barcelona! ( This is our 4th year touring Europe as we are on an open ended world tour). Loving the sea view out my window & being back in this beach resort near Barcelona.

We still love it and have found a way to travel very luxuriously on just 23 dollars a day per person! We will start wintering in Asia so our child can immerse deeply in her Mandarin, but plan to continue to summer in Europe for some time to return to favorite places and explore new ones. We've been to 32 countries & 4 continents so far, but plan to focus on Barcelona, Paris, Provence, Swiss Alps, Lake Como, Italy, Pyrenees & Andorra this summer.
We've been wintering in a gorgeous white village, so that is where we started from on June 1st.
