I live in the Eastern time zone and am also in the one week camp. West is worse than east. The problem that I have is waking up at 2 AM. Going to bed after getting home is a balance between getting enough sleep and getting back on home time. I now always go to work the day after getting back as the the first day back is really not a big deal. I like to return on a Monday so the first work week is a little shorter.

I find going West a lot less troublesome than the other way around. I wake up early and go to sleep early, but that's not nearly as disruptive as the 2 am - 5 am time I am always awake for the first few days of my trip. Takes about a week to get back to normal sleep patterns.
