I just returned from Mykonos, Paros and Santorini and will try to offer suggestions for the nightlife in Mykonos. 'Celebrities' was recommended to me but I never found it (probably what Margo was refferring to as 'Celebrations'.) 'Skandinavia' was quite popular -- ran into the some of the crowd from the earlier party at Paradise Beach. I also loved the music and the large patio at (I'm going to butcher the name) 'Ayian'. The Mykonos Bar was hopping for a dance club late night (the crowds begin around 12:30 - 1am just about everywhere). Uno Bar is small but also gets a good crowd earlier.

Also, on Paradise Beach sit near the Tropicana Beach Club -- there is music throughout the afternoon and we were surprised to find a party erupt around 5pm. We stayed till almost 9pm dancing on the bar!

For perspective, 'we' are 3 early-30s single women and just loved Mykonos. Felt very safe. I put the trip together over the Internet for hotel reservations and found that the inter-island fast boat or ferry tickets can only be purchased the day before traveling (it's all dependent on the weather, and we had no problem getting tickets 6/26 - 7/8). Go to Likouris Travel just down from the bus stop on Mykonos -- very helpful and the female owner is from Chicago! Overall, we found few language barriers, English abounds.

I can also add high acclaim for Petasos Beach Hotel. Excellent service (I had a great massage for about 60USD) and very convenient with the bus just out front; we walked to Paraga beach and took the water taxi to Paradise Beach.

I can't wait to go back!

Hi Margo,

Do you know if you can rent a sailboat for a few days from Mykonos or Santorini? If so do you know who I might contact about that. Thanks for any advice.
