Oops! I meant East End!

Well, certainly I'd like to see either, just to take up an evening. I don't have the money for the theatre every night, and I don't have the energy for nightly club hopping.

Still, these London Walks tours seem to be much cheaper. I really do want to see London at night. Shall I book this tour once in London?

lubeltri,
You do not need to book these walks in advance, just pick one that you like and show up at the stated time and at the stated Underground station. You will find information at www.london.walks.com or once you are in London, pick up a brochure at your hotel.

We really like John Muffty's Historical Walks of London Tours. He leads all the regular tours and then some and is a fabulous leader, very knowlegable and with humorous. His website, www.historical-walksoflondon.com is currently under construction but he will send you his schedule if you e-mail him

Donald's (the guy who wrote the book and consulted personally on the movie) Ripper walks do attract a large crowd, but he is very good about making sure everyone hears and sees him. We took the walk on a misty, spring evening - it was quite compelling, a murder mystery sprung to life.
