Itinerary for 1 week in Ireland

We are going to Ireland for one week at the end of Feb. We need help in setting up an itinerary. We'll be flying in at Shannon and departing from Dublin. Renting a car and staying in B&Bs. We won't be going to N. Ireland. Can you give us some tips?

Galway, Cliffs of Moher, south to Dingle Peninsula, Killarney, Muckross Castle, Blarney Castle (perhaps also Kinsale), then Kilkenny, Glendalough, Dublin.

This is too much for one week but a general direction and highlights some nice destinations. Note, you could skip dingle and do the Ring of Kerry, but that's an awfully long drive and Dingle Town is a kick.

Judy
We are doing this same trip in March. If you are on vouchers for your B&B's, make reservations ASAP for Dublin. As you will notice in your green book, or on their website, (B&B's in Ireland, Town and Country homes) there are not that many B&B's in City South or City North that take vouchers and the ones that do fill up fast. I emailed for 4 days before I found one.

I liked the area of the Burren - different from the rest of Ireland. The Ring of Kerry is a very long drive - get an early start. I especially liked the Sklig ring at the end.
I recommend staying in Swords - near the Dublin Airport and a short, one turn drive into the city. I stayed at the HollyTree House - very nice

By all means research an itinerary but do be prepared to flex it. For instance the Ring of Kerry in a mellow fog doesn't work. In a good wind with the clouds racing across the sky and shadows galloping over the landscape you do not need a camera to have it fixed for life in your memory.
Leave time for encounters.

Hi All:

We are planning a trip to Ireland for June/July 2002, mainly for a friend's wedding in Ballina on July 6th. We are flying into Shannon June 30 and out of Shannon on July 8th. The night before the wedding (the 5th) and the night of the wedding (the 6th) are booked, but before and after are wide open...we'd love some suggestions on what to do. We have rented a car for the entire time.
