ITASOFTWARE.com

shows a certain price for a flight from CPH to MAD on ITasoftware.com, however when you go to maersk.com that price is not the same?

Can anyone tell me how to book a rate that is found on the itasoftware website, any travel agents i have called were also unable to get me that flight at the price offered by itasoftware.

Thanks.

I have booked through Itasofware often however, the flights I have booked are American and usually you click on the flight you want and it brings up the info on who to call. You then give the airline itself the code number that ita gives you.

I guess my problem is I am in the USA, and the only phone number it gave me was of one in DENMARK for Maersk airlines.

You might be able to find the fare on the Maersk site. Then again, maybe not. The search engines are always running a little bit behind the airlines.

ITA will generally give fare classes that are available on the specific flight you want, but from time to time it will return a published fare that tha airline doesn't want to sell, or perhaps has been sold out on your flight since ITA last updated itself. This is especially the case with budget or low-cost-carriers (LCCs) who don't put their fares on the major reservation systems (Amadeus et al.) For example, you'll never see Easyjet on ITA. Maersk seems to fall on both sides of the line.

If it's a rate that's too good to pass up, I suppose you could research Maersk's site and see if there's an email address for special enquiries, or even phone them up (yes, in Denmark.) Otherwise I would find the best rate you can on the Maersk site and go with it. Not many alternatives in dealing with LCCs.
