We have just booked a two week pilgrimage through Italy for next September/October. We are arriving in Rome, then it's off to Assisi, Siena, Florence and Venice ending with two days in Paris. Have been to Italy before but each trip is unique. 2006 will surely fly by while we're planning the intricate details. Once again, Fodorites will come in handy for useful tips.

We hope to have ten wonderful days in Italy in April or May. The time will be divided between Rome, Venice, and two nights in Tuscany--Orvieto? Montepulciano? Our problem now is the price of airline tickets. We have ff on Delta but they have now doubled what we need for the trip. We live in Atlanta so Delta is usually what we fly.Dlt begins direct flights to Venice in June and any ff seats are already gone. So now we have to wait and see and remain flexible --we have no problem with flight not being direct--just want to fly at a reasonable price.

December 2006. Rome and Venice. 3rd time for me to Rome, second time to Venice. Second time to Rome for mrwhoknew, 1st for Venice for him. Just starting to plan. I am thinking 10 days total, not including travel time.
It seems so far away!....sigh.

A group of us from work (not sure of exact numbers yet...will know this Monday) are planning a trip in October. Arriving in Rome on the 12th, train to Florence on the 14th and a week in Tuscany with day trips from there.
Perhaps a little get together (GTG if I've got my Fodor's lingo down!) is in order for anyone in Rome on those dates? I'm a newbie to the site, but that would certainly be fun!

My wife and I leave for Italy on June 8. We'll spend four nights in Rome; then we will head down to Positano for four nights (3 hour drive). After that we will spend two weeks in Tuscany, basing out of San Gimignano. We have done this the past three summers, and we love it!

Husband and I will be enjoying Italy for a week April 4-12. He is German so we are doing our mandatory 2 weeks there but then escaping to Rome and Amalfi Coast for 8 days! Found some great internal flights from Germany to Rome for 10e!

I'm going in Sept or Oct - dates not set yet. Especially interested in the south -- happy for any recommendations. Will also visit southern France, Croatia and Amsterdam.
To Willy123 and quartknee: I'd like to ask you a few questions about Croatia. I want to go there in the fall as well but am not finding much info on how to get there economically. I can be reached directly at: [email protected]

June 18 for 3 weeks
4 nights Lugano
3 nights Menaggio (Lake Como)
3 nights Florence
6 nights Rapallo (Ligurian coast)
5 nights Berner Oberland
If we can get two tickets to La Scala, we'll use 2 of our Berner Oberland nights in Milan.
