lyb, I don't find it strange that a pretty woman would find romance in Rome, if you can't feel romantic in Rome you had better just give up.
Faith, I am interested still in buying cell phones in Rome and activating them. I will be there soon and would like to have a cell phone for convenience, any tips? Thanks.

Chardonnay, I bought a Sony Ericsson TRI-BAND (make sure it is triband for Europe).
I went to this TIM Center near where we are staying: BROS Centro TIM on Corso V. Emanuele II, 93A/95. It is open every day but Sunday from 9:30 to 7:30. This is where I bought the TIM card to activate the phone. The young man is very helpful and speaks English enough to get your phone ready.
I had read here to get an Italian ID from an intenet site (I have no idea now which thread) so I took a xerox of my ID, bought the card and received my phone number and now I call all over Italy and to the US easily! Good luck Chardonnay and have fun with your phone.
BTW, I suppose my writing style is part of the reason but I am sure you all are just as bored by now as I am in having everything I write questioned and mocked, so I will sign off of Fodors website.
It was fun, but like they say in Roma, toodle looo!

Chardonnay,
Did you read the previous post that Faith wrote, it was rather hysterical and frankly not very believable to be truthful...perhaps it is, but if you read it and remember it, I'm sure you know what I mean, if you didn't read, look for it, you'll know what I mean.

lyb, I think I kept up on all of her posts and found them out of the ordinary but entertaining and they kept me interested.
I sort of wish more people would write informative and interesting threads, myself included.
Anyway, Faith, if you are still checking in thanks for the phone info! Have a wonderful time in Rome too.
