Italy to Spain?

I've just started thinking about a trip/wedding/honeymoon that would take place between Italy in Spain. I think I'll only be able to get about two weeks (16 days) off.....any suggestions?
Rent a car or train?
Cheap airports to fly in and out of?
Must sees?(I know we do have to make it to Rome being RC and all)

Hi jmarkle:

above are two sites where you can search out cheap flights. I definately would not drive or take the trains, given that you only have 16 days.

Do you need to do both on the same trip? You could easily spend 16 days in either country and still see only a tiny portion.

Spain: Madrid, Seville and driving Andulusia would be one 16 day option.

Italy: Rome, Florence, Venice by trains another.

When are you planning to go? Have you been to either before?

regards Ger

I would tend to agree with Ger that you can find enough to do in either Spain or Italy for 16 days.

Depending on the season, you can also plan "off time" somewhere in the country (Tuscany in Italy) or at the beach (in Spain; I don't go to beaches myself, so I cannot recommend a place).

Also, bear in mind that the wedding (whether in North America or Europe) is probably going to take a fair amount of energy and that you might want to go at a more relaxed pace during the honeymoon.

<<I've just started thinking about a trip/wedding/honeymoon that would take place between Italy in Spain...>>

Your message header (and two of your four questions, in the body of the message) implies that you are seeking info on transportation options between the two countries.

But saying a "trip/wedding/honeymoon" that would "take place" between...

... suggests that you actually want to get married in Europe.

On what contient do you currently reside (and/or plan to reside after you are married)? You should lok through some of the numerous message threads here on having a wedding in Europe. It's more difficult than you might supopse (or at least more difficult than I might suppose!)

And I cannot imagine trying to have a wedding earlier than the third (or perferably fourth or fifth) day afgter arriving in Europe (assuming that you are coming from another continent). I would not see the appeal (again, personal viewpoint - - as a recent father of a bride myself, and a groom, almost 30 years ago) in flying to Europe, to get married on one country, and then travel onward to another country as part of a honeymoon.

More clarification of your pursuits will result in better answers here.

Whatever the case, congratulations on your new life in marriage... and...

Best wishes,

Rex
