EuB - Why not go by train?
www.trenitalia.com
There is a Eurolines bus service Florence-Nice - but it doesn't appear to stop in Monaco.

Hope this helps ...

Hi eu,
You are aware that there is a train from Florence to Monte Carlo (via Genoa) for 32E?
See www.trenitalia.com.

Check www.trenitalia.it again. The route is Florence-Pisa-Genova-Monte Carlo. 7-8 hours.
If there was direct ferry service to Monte Carlo, it would most likely be from Livorno or Genova, but as far as I know there is no direct service. You might be able to cobble together a series of ferries along the coast, but they would be "locals" stopping many times. Your total journey would take much longer than 8 hours.
But Google Livorno/Monte Carlo and Genova/Monte Carlo ferry service and see what comes up.
