Italy - November 1st Holiday

I will be in Venice on Nov 1st and read somewhere that it is a public holiday (All St's day??). Does anyone know what I can expect with regards to closures of places- museums, restaurants, transport, etc.

Thank-you

Hi JBA - Public transport will certainly be running - for locals and tourists alike - and I'm sure you'll find most things still open.

For museum opening hours (- and lots of other info) see:

Hope this helps ...

Trains may be crowded as Italians travel to visit family on this day of remebering loved ones--families spend time visiting cemeteries.

Think Sunday.
Schools are out on both the 1st and 2nd. It's a very busy time. Lots of visits to cemeteries.
Restaurants are pretty much open.
This information is genearl for Italy. I'm not sure about Venice, but imagine it's pretty much like Rome and Tuscany.
