Italy Baggage Strike
Hello,
does anyone have any word on the Italy baggage strike? I see that there are rumors of a baggage strike on September 8th. We are supposed to be arriving into Italy that day. What does a baggage strike look like and what should we expect? If we check luggage, would we be able to receiving it in a timely manner? We are traveling for a wedding and any insight would be great! Thanks for your help!

This strike is scheduled to affect mainly domestic flights, and not all of them.
As usual, Italian transportation strikes have some limitations imposed by law. All intercontinental arrivals will be protected. Does your flight originate outside Europe? If so, it shouldn't be affected. If your flight originates in another country on the continent, it could be affected. The official communication (in bureaucratic Italian) which flights are guaranteed to arrive to the destination.

I have read that some airlines are cancelling affected flights and rescheduling passengers.
I would still expect some confusion and delays even if your flight is not affected. It might be worthwhile paring down your wardrobe to what will fit in carry-on luggage.

What is the latest on the metro strike, the museum strike, and the baggage handlers strike in Paris?
