Italy - Air travel question

For those of you starting in one place, and leaving from another.. how are you handling air travel? Are you buying one way tickets? I find that to be very expensive..

Can someone please give me advice for air travel.. We want to arrive in Rome and leave from Venice.

Thanks in advance for any tips or advice.

We are flying into Rome and out of Venice in March. The fare was just slightly higher than round-trip from Rome and saves alot of time back-tracking.

You can purchase as round-trip. Depending on the website, you'll probably need to look for an "advance search" button which will give you the ability to put in the air cities by leg.

Hi beth,

You are looking for an "open-jaw" ticket.

Some internet sites deal only in RT or OW.

Look for "advanced options", "more options" or "multi-city".

Try http://airtravelcenter.com/onetrav.htm
for an example

Depending on the website you use, this is also called "open jaw" or "multi-city."

I am also flying into Rome and out of Venice (and I thought I was the only one!) in February/March. I used the advance search feature on Orbitz and got a very decent deal on KLM,to my surprise. It was $520 from Dulles-Rome, Venice-Dulles. I might have been able to find something a bit cheaper, but it suited my needs.

I should add that the $520 includes includes taxes and security fees.MDiva
