Italy Adriatic coast, East side...bike riding PLUS

End of May 2013, we'll be hiking in Abruzzo, then hoping to bike along the Adriatic
Has anyone done this ? Suggestions for towns, or is Pescara the only one ?

we drove from Ravenna to Ancona..great coastal scenes, ideal fo biking. We visited Rep. of San Marino beforehand...worth a quick visit..we arrived on Investiture Day when the new President was installed....pomp and circumstance everywhere...many towns and village along road. We took ferry from Ancona to Croatia. Happy trails.

There is a great deal of bicycle tourism around the Po Delta and in Puglia, where you could either join some groups or easily rent bikes on your own.

I honestly don't know what you mean by asking if Pescara is the only town on the coast. The Adriatic coast is fully developed from top to heel, with many towns small and large along the way, many with exceptionally rewarding sights of history and art, some with miles of Miami'beach style hotels and amusement parks. What are you looking for?

Just as aside, I cannot imagine anyone biking to San Marino unless they were training for the Giro.

Steve...as aside, I cannot imagine anyone biking to San Marino unless they were training for the Giro.

Who suggested anything about biking to RSM? As I said, we were driving..OP asked about biking along the coast and I merely told him what we observed... mentioning that we beforehand had stopped by RSM. You're right...he'd be nuts to bike it to RSM.
