ITALO Treno Opens Bookings to Venice and Padova Effective October 3

BREAKING NEWS:

The ITALO Treno website now shows open bookings for the new train service from Roma TIBURTINA, Firenze SMN and Bologna Centrale to Padova, Venezia Mestre and Venezia S. Lucia beginning on October 3 (NOT October 27 as previously shown).

There will be three high-speed trains per day, competing against Trenitalia's own 17 daily Frecciargento trains (using Roma Termini Station).

As mentioned on another Italo thread today, they are offering some free local transport in Naples and Florence. For Florence, your train ticket gets you 24 hour transport on Ataf.

These trains use the same stations as the Trenitalia trains? Where do you buy tickets, or are they only available online?

NO NO NO!!!!

ITALO Treno operates out of Roma TIBURTINA Station instead of the more popular and central Roma TERMINI Station (used by Trenitalia). Both stations are extremely well connected to Rome Fiumicino Airport.

ITALO Treno tickets can be purchased in a number of different ways, as is explained here:

Well, it says Venezia S.L. and Bologna Centrale and Florence SMF. As far as I know, those are the only stations at those locations. Are they not?

The same stations in Venice, Mestre, Padova, Bologna and Florence are used by both Trenitalia and ITALO Treno.

Different stations are used in Rome.
