My considerable quest for the past year has been for good Italian-STYLE wines, from California.
You can learn a lot about some very dedicated wine producers who operate together the consortium www.cal-italia.org and discover some wonderful Italian style wines.
My favorite is Sasso Rosso from Pietra Santa (though it may be no longer in national distribution - - replaced by Sassolino?) - - both are blends of predominantly Sangiovese. I am also fond of Il Podere dell'Olivos - - nice, inexpensive Barbera - - and I am thinking to order their Teroldego.
Teroldego Rotaliano is a varietal from the Trentino region, and an excellent find, when you can locate it here in the US. Foradori is imported and available in a couple of locations here in my hometown.
Is this another atttempt to drag information out of me about my grocery tours?

jen if you like red wine try chainti lamole and lamole it comes 2 ways. 1 aged in oak for 9 months and the other is not oak aged. both are excellent and frequently you can find coupons worth $5 usable at the register. usually costs 14-18 bottle without coupon. enjoy
