Italian Riviera to Paris, over 6 Days

I need your expert suggestions.

This is the second half of our honeymoon trip. We'll be coming to the French Riviera from Italy and we're flying out of Paris (we will have already seen Paris earlier on the trip).

What suggestions do you have on what we should see and what routes we should take over 6 full days?

Our only musts are to see Versailles on the last day and we'd like to be able to see the D-Day area(s) the day before that if it's possible.

We'll be driving and our time is flexible. (Earlier in the trip we'll be seeing Paris, Venice and Cinque Terre).

Thanks for your help!

Jeff,

I would spend two days in Aix, two days in Avignon, then take the TGV to Paris and spend the last two days there, with a day trip to Versailles. Three of our favorite spots, all for different reasons. Aix is great for sitting outside in any of a half dozen squares and just relaxing while sipping your favorite beverage. Or move the the Cours Mirabeau for a little more activity.

Avignon is also a great place to spend the evening, doing day trips to St. Remy, Chateneuf du Pape, or Isle-sur-la-Sorgue.

Finally, even though you said you will have already spent time in Paris, in my opinion, you can never get enough time in Paris, so I would be sure to end my trip with another day or two there.

OK, let me be a bit clearer.

We are DRIVING and will have already seen Paris.

We're thinking of spending a day or two in Provence/Riviera.

Then driving towards Tours/Loire Valley.

Then driving to Normandy Beaches and spending our last day at Versailles with a last night near airport(leaving in morning @ CDG).

Please give me your suggestions about where to stay and the route(s) that you suggest we take.

We'd like to see Monaco, maybe another beach town (St.Tropez?), small towns in Provence, Chateau country...etc.

We recognize we can't see everything, but we WILL be driving back towards Paris regardless.

Thanks again!

Hey Jeff, I can read, O.K.

You asked for suggestions. I suggested you drop the car in Avignon and take the TGV to Paris. If you don't want to, obviously I don't really care.

I also recognized that you would have already been to Paris. See that's why I said "even though you said you will have already spent time in Paris."

So, let me give you some new suggestions. Please don't go to Aix or Avignon, because they are two of my favorite places, and they will be better without you there.

Eric-

Thanks for taking the time to suggest an itinerary that totally has nothing to do with what I asked.

You response is the equivalent of somebody saying that although someone may have already booked a cruise from NYC to Bermuda to London....you suggest that they leave the ship and fly from Bermuda to London. Moron.

Also, thank you for insulting me, it just shows what a jerk you are.

I'm in good company then, beacuse in my opinion that is too much distance to drive in that amount of time.
