Italian Holiday/School Vacation Weeks

I'm in the process of planning a ski vacation in the Valle d'Aosta region for Feb/Mar of 2003. My dates are flexible and I'd like to avoid school holiday weeks - does anyone know if there are any scheduled during that period? Thanks.

I believe their spring break is the week before or after Easter.

This will give you an idea, although it's from this year. But skiing holidays are usually from mid-February to mid-March, depending on the country and particular area.
Expect also French and Swiss in Valle d'Aosta.

http://www.snowpiste.com/SchoolHolidays.html

This is not spring break which would be later in the year, around Easter in April.

Thanks to you both. jj, the site you gave me has the information I'm looking for. I assume they'll update for 2003 at some point, but even failing that I can figure out when the 10 days prior to Lent will fall. We're looking primarily at the first two weeks in March, so should be OK.

Usually there is no spring break, only some 5 days of vacation around easter, so it depends on when Easter is. yet, this year schools started some days earlier in order to allow a longer break around easter. Moreover, schools have different holidays schedules in different regions, so that you never actually know. In any case, if Easter is more than 10 days from your holiday's end or start, you should be pretty sure that there is no mas of people. At least as long as you also keep off the long break spanning from April 25 and May 1 (that can extend to the nearby weekends). April 25 is the national holiday and May 1st is worker's day, celebrated by both trade unions and state.
