Italian events
Hi

I'm planning a trip to Italy from May 12 to May 26, 2001. I am staing in the town of Viterbo at the villa Le Terrae. Does anyone know of any events, festivals, or sights that shouldn't be missed that are occuring at that time?

Kathy

Kathy,
Last night I tried to find a site for Viterbo.
I went to yahoo, went to travel, then Italy, then went to cities.
Viterbo came up with a site and the sidebar listed all kinds of things, but when I tried to access them , it just stopped and would not go anyfurther.
Not sure if it was me/computer, the time of day, or just that the site does not work, but you could try it again.
Good luck in you search.
nancy

Holly,

The villa is in the territory of the Ancient Etruscans, south of Tuscany. Boundary of Umbria and Northern Lazio. You may view it at www.leterrae.com. It says 1 hour from Rome and 2 from Florence.

I plan to visit Rome, Venice, and Pisa if time permits.

I just wanted to know if there were any spots that people might know of that I shouln't miss.

Thanks for your interest.

I take it you'll have a car while in Viterbo. The following are within a radius of 1:20 hours driving (one way):
Orvieto, Todi, Amelia, Terni, Spoleto, Narni, Civita Castellana, Caprarola, Tarquinia, Tuscania, Bolsena, Pitigliano, Sorano, San Salvatore Abbey, Bagnoregio, among others.

Very close to Viterbo you may consider the Villa Lante in Bagnaia, the Roman theatre in Ferento, Montefiascone, and Lago Vico.

Once you're on the edge of Umbria, it may also pay to visit Umbrian web pages for events taking place mid-May.
http://www.argoweb.it/umbria/umbria.uk.html

Paulo
