I thought I would try a "snazzier" title. Does anyone have suggestions for restaurants in the Bellagio/Lake Como area

You snagged me, Reg. We stayed at Hotel Silvia in Bellagio a year ago. Nice little dozen room place with a restaurant frequented by locals. The proprietor nets the evening's fish entrees every morning.

Thanks for the suggestion, I knew that it had to be in the marketing!

We just returned last Friday from 16 days in Italy. Spent the last 3 days in Varenna on Lake Como, just a short hop on the ferry across from Bellagio.
If you have a chance, try Il Cavatappi ("Corkscrew&quot just off the main town square of Varenna. Very small, only 5 tables, with very nice hostess and funny/eccentric chef who came out and spoke to his customers. Food was great and reasonably-priced...the red wine risotto with smoked cheese was incredibly good.

Sant'Anna 1907 just up the hill in Como was excellent.

Reg,

Silvio's is a family-run restaurant (and hotel) which is about a mile from the center of Bellagio. It has tables under a veranda, with great views of the lake. Reasonably priced. We ended up liking it so much, we went the next night as well. Stays busy until 11pm.

Thanks to everyone who replied to my request for information. We had many good meals in Bellagio (and one dodgy one) but there was one restaurant that did not make it on your list - La Punta - it was gorgeous and the views weren't bad either. PS - Who said that Americans aren't travelling, Bellagio was chock full!
