Our flight home was not until 6.30 pm, so we also had most of Saturday available. We had a relaxed late breakfast before formally checking out. If the rooms had not been booked for that night, we were told we could stay in them later than standard checkout time, but in the event both were booked. However, we were entitled to enjoy the hotel facilities until our transfer arrived at 4.30.
We left our cases at reception, and walked back into Seefeld one last time. We walked around the Wildsee again and then had lunch at Nanni’s. Returning to the hotel, we wandered around the garden, and my mum, who had not had lunch earlier, had something from the hotel buffet lunch while I had a drink. The weather had really brightened up by now, so we were sitting in warm sun – such a contrast to the previous weekend and its snow!
In retrospect there were downsides to such a late return flight. We landed at 7.30 UK time, but it was an hour to get through immigration and baggage reclaim (not helped by them dividing our plane’s load between two carousels), then ages to get to where our car was. We didn’t get to my parents’ home until midnight – luckily I had booked an extra day off work so we could use Sunday just to decompress before I headed home on Monday.
Seefeld was lovely and I recommend it.
