Thanks for your observations on a difficult situation. Istanbul is an interesting, vibrant and magnificent city.
We loved our trip to Norway too. Consider going on a Hurtigruten ship for at least part of the coast. We do not take cruises but Hurtigruten is different as it also serves as the transportation link between coastal towns. Magnificent scenery. Great food too. Enjoyed Oslo, lots to see and do.

Brookums, have thoroughly enjoyed reading your trip report. I like the straightforwardness of your desciptions and the honesty of your comments. I have been in Istanbul and Turkey many times, recently at the end/beginning of the year and will be there again in summer. I think we may see eye-to-eye on this. Good luck to you.
