Istanbul stay need advice

We are considering a trip that would have us arrive on a Saturday in Instanbul.

Not knowing lifestyle there; are there places open on Saturday and Sunday for tourist visits?

Thanks, Tania

Tania Istanbul is a city lives 24 hours and Turkey is one of the rare countries where shops are also open on weekends and most in evenings too. Museums are open( most ) on sunday and genaral practice Mondays closed but again not for all museums and not for all regions.

Istanbul offers something for any livestyles so you should be fine.

Happy travelling,

Murat

Istanbul is an incredible city and most everything is open on the weekends. However, the Grand Bazaar and the Spice Market are closed on Sundays. Some of the sites are also closed on certain days, I believe the Aya Sofia is closed on Monday (not positive). Check a travel guide for sure.

If you get a tour book, like Istanbul Top 10 - it will list all the major sites and hours of operation then you can plan your itinerary easier. We were in Istanbul last April and I posted a trip report with a lot of information. Search Risab Istanbul. It is an amazing place and there is a lot too see plus Istanbul is huge.
