Is the Vatican Museum open on Sunday

I will be in Rome in early May. Is the Vatican Museum open on Sunday? Please do not refer me to a website. My tour has me going to the Museum on Sunday, but most websites imply that it is closed.

I believe it is open in the morning on the last Sunday of each month

Yes, the last Sunday only until 12:45, I think.

Be aware that the Sunday it is open is free, which sounds good, but the crowds are large, enormous, filled with locals on top of all of the tourists.

The Vatican museums are open and free on the last Sunday of the month excluding this March as it clashes with Easter. Although the museums are closed the Basilica remains open, it may well be the tour is for the Vatican Basilica only.
