Is the Euro getting stronger?

Just did a conversion rate yesterday (Euro to dollars), and I noticed the Euro was a bit stronger than it was a couple months ago - is this temporary or should we be prepared to pay more this coming year?

It been yo yoing a bit between 86 cents and 89 cents the last several weeks. It was just under 87 cents about a week ago and it is a little over 88 cents right now.

Is the trend up? Nobody really knows. Guessing about international currency fluctuations is next to impossible. Most of the so called experts say yes it should be going up as the US dollar should be getting weaker. Note I said should.....for some reason the current administration is made up of people with very limited knowledge from the President on down when it comes to economics. They seem to think that a strong dollar is a good thing and their monetary policies have been geared to keeping the dollar strong. Of course that raises the price of American exports and ultimately hurts industry but apparently that hasn't dawned on them.

Hey, idiot x, I realize that you posted to try to slam Rex, but you're so stupid you didn't even take the time to realize that he said nothing about the current rise having anything to do with summer, he was just suggesting that it will probably go higher yet in summer. Get a life.

As Jeff alluded to, I doubt anyone can accurately predict that what the Euro is going to do vis-a-vis the dollar...other than fluctuate.

There's a 50% chance to "see it coming" and be right. If people here had any idea how currencies will fluctuate in the future, brokers, central banks directors and head of states would all be checking the fodor's board every day.
