Is Lake Como OK in May?

We're going to the Lake Como area in the second half of May. I just read on the boards that the towns and hotels in in the Dolomites are pretty much shut down until June. Are we going to be OK in Lake Como and the surroundings in

Hi Mylesaway, your thread got me thinking and I am trying to remember each trip and the months we were where in Italy. I am almost certain that we have been in the Lake area (including Lake Como) in May and do not remember any problem. Problems I would have remembered for sure.

You are aware that Lake Como is NOT in the Dolomites, correct? Regardless, the hotels mid-lake are open in May and it is a wonderful time to go there.

I was in Lake Como last May and everything was open. Beautiful weather, a nice time to be there.

Thanks everyone.

And, yes, I know that Lake Como isn't in the Dolomites, but I can't get a handle on how far away from the Dolomites it is...and whether or not they have similar weather patterns.

But you guys answered my question!
