Is Dresden worth a day-trip?

Český Krumlov is much nicer than Dresden. I would even go so far to say that Český Krumlov is bigly hugely nicer than Dresden.
Just keep in mind that "Český" means Czech. So asking for a ticket to "Český" in Prague will probably cause a bit of amusement. If you feel the need to shorten the name of the town, Krumlov will do a better job.
Since you don't like "German Baroque" you may not fully enjoy Český Krumlov, though. There are many buildings from that time in town - and those nasty Czechs even organize an annual Baroque festival.

Always write down the names of stations when asking for a ticket in non-English speaking countries unless very fluent in the local tongue.
Fodor comments on C Krumlov have not always been that positive -mixed -maybe overhyped some say - me I have not been there but would love to go- Dresden been there done that when -first time when it was still in East Germany - man what a blight then!
A real Phoenix on the Elbe!

When you say Fodors do you mean 2 to 3 people? I don't think that forms a consensus.
If you want to know what people think of check out TripAdvisor. Of the 3,195 reviews, 3,072 are highly positive. I don't think that translates to "mixed reviews".

I wouldn't take the opinion of a few Fodorites as the bible, if I were you.
This forum is plagued with travel snobs who simply dismiss a city because it's overrun with tourists.

Or This forum is plagued with travel snobs who simply dismiss a city because it's not quite the style of architecture they like -throwing the baby out with the bath water?

5 full days in Prague? Check out other easy day trips from there-like Karlovey-Vary once one of Europe's primo spas for wealthy and famous long ago. Been to Prague several times but really would not want to stay 5 full days there but others would disagree.

If you think Prague warrants repeat visits, then I don't see why you think 5 days would be too long?
Anyway, I'm considering an overnight in Cesky Krumlov so I'll only have 4 full days in Prague.
1-2-3-4 Prague
5 Daytrip to Dresden
6-7 Cesky krumlov
Wondering if I can fit a day trip to Terezin, too. I'm a WWII history buff.
