Hi there Livinright,
The date and time of that gig has been changed to Monday the 6th at 5pm, as it was clashing with another gig. The venue has also been changed to McCarthy's pub which is in Dingle town itself.
I play button accordion and I sing songs mostly in Irish and I'll be playing with my new band, "Cuas". There will also be flute, fiddle and guitar and we aim to keep the west Kerry style of music, song and dance alive with lively tunes and meaningful songs.
As regards flanneruk's comments, I come from Dingle and I am here all year round. It is one of the busiest towns in the country even in the winter months where other "remote towns" would be very quiet.
It would be best to arrive at the gig a bit early to guarantee a place to sit as McCarthy's gig space is nice and small and allows for the more intimate concerts.
I'm not looking be "exotic" in any way and just want to play the music we grew up with with friends who happen to really like the music and each other! Yep, hopefully there will be plenty of "Yeehaw" when we play some polkas and slides!
Britain is nice and all, but Dingle is definitely not part of it!
Anyway, Livinright, as I said, I would love to see you all there dancing and listening and having the craic as we say in Ireland! Find me on facebook if you'd like to know anything else about Dingle or whatnot.
All the best agus Slainte!

OMG,Meabh, I have only just seen your reply! I checked this thread for about a week and a half before moving on. Not sure you will see this, I'm not on Facebook, but thank you! We attended the concert and just loved it! You were great, A wonderful combination of being both structured and attentive to the audience mood. Also! Loved that other headliners from other shows came to watch your performance. They got a treat! A special moment when your fiddle player did a step dance. Great musicians, great show. I wanted it to go on longer and had wondered if you would have been at Bric's Pub if we had gone on Saturday night (unofficially, of course). We would have loved a "double header".
Thank you for a wonderful reply and thank you for a wonderful show. i was determined not to miss it and you did not disappoint me!!!
