Let me add to the Ira smooch fest. I remember when i was planning a trip way back when and Ira said something to the effect of "give london a chance," after i said i couldnt do it because of cost.

He gently prodded me again, and yes, I am happy with the five days I ended up staying in London (after a planned single rest stop plan for one night). I cannot wait to go back and I made some excellent friends there.

Not to mention, I spent St. Patty's day in London...which was a wee bit interesting.

Thanks for your help Ira...though I would be lying if Rex didnt help me out as well.

Maybe you too should have a bantering travel show...the doctor vs. the professor!!!

Hi C,

Oddly enough, I do have a life outside Fodor's, although I admit that I did undergo some mild withdrawl symptoms today.

Hi PM,

So pleased it worked out for you.

Hi MD,

One day.

Thanks for all the kind words, folks.

Hi ira,

Your love of culture and history shine through in all of your trip reports. You and your LW will likely adore Rome whenever you do make it there. Don't wait too much longer because once you go once you'll want to keep going back over and over and over again...

Who is ira? I don't think I have ever read one of his/her posts.

My favorite poster, so far, is Neopolitan. He seems to be the most knowledgable of travelers! I am very impressed.

Who is Ira?

He's the man who introduced me to the world "fusty"!

Although I'm sure he's nothing of the sort.

Are the smiley face symbols at http://www.fodors.com/forums/smileys/ typical for many forums...like an HTML thingy or is it Fodors only?

I guess Ira invented the light bulb - but i suggest he get green and replace that Global Warming old incandescent bulb with something more Earth friendly!

(wish i knew how to make the light bulb here but turned off!)
