Ipod automobile recharger

The only electronic device we plan on bringing to London and Spain are our Ipods. Teenage son won't leave home without it and i don't blame him. We have a hookup to the standard us cigerette lighter wich charges the Ipod but don't want to buy converters just for an ipod. Will this work? thereyet

Here, you've got choices.

Make sure whatever charger you use, if it's a third-party, has a "Made for iPod" certification.

It's important for things like chargers and speakers and docks where you have to make sure of electrical compatibility.

iLounge.com has listings and reviews.

Thanks for the link Budman. I didn't realize they were soo inexpensive. I still couldn't tell if they were suitable for europe or should consider buying one there. The question still remains do the car lighter rechargers work as they do in the US. Probably a dumb question but could save me a couple of bucks and some peace from a nagging son. thereyet

Yes, the cigarette lighters are the same as in the U.S. I use it all the time with my GPS to keep it charged.

If you buy the plug-in-the-electric-socket type, make sure it is 110/220, then all you need is the plug adapter. You might also check at Circuit City or Radio Shack to check them out.

Note, plug adapters are different from London to Spain. http://www.voltageconverters.com/plug_adapters.html PB-12 and GS-9 or GS-20 respectively.

Thanks Budman, I thought that might be the problem, London vs Spain. The car recharger sounds the easiest. We do have the standard ipod recharger made by apple, will have to check out if 110/220 and would just need the plug adaptor. thereyet

If the plug in the wall charger is 110/220 (might read 110-240), you just might be better off with a set of plug adapters so he can recharge it in the room at night. You can get a set of the plug adapters for just a few bucks.
