iPhone cell service with Ireland SIM

Trying to see if someone can verify if my thoughts are correct on this?

So if I have an iPhone that I get At&t to unlock. I can order the free SIM from Tesco and have it shipped to me. I can top off the pay as you go plan with my credit card and then just plug it in when I arrive? I would pay 30 eur for 60eur worth of phone calls and that includes unlimited data?? And wouldnt have to worry about finding an actual store?

Seems too cheap to be true I feel like I am missing something important!

You should wait until you arrive in Ireland and pick up a sim card from Vodafone. All incoming calls would be free and local calls reasonable (www.vodafone.ie/df/sim-only).

The Tesco offer is not all that it seems.

Tesco is the best network for Coverage, calls and Texts, the data isn't bad and remember you don't use credit if you use data via wifi hot spots which are plentiful. We don't get Vodafone service here in our bit of east Galway/Clare and they are too expensive anyway.

Meteor or "3" would be my options with Vodafone and 02 on the bottom list

Thanks - we will be mostly in Clare and some in the Tipperary. Ill look at the other companies and their plans also. I spoke to the people at Tesco and they said they don't have a store in the Shannon airport and I think they have stores in Ennis and maybe Kilrush?

If you are heading out that way Ennis would be the nearest place for Any phone outlets, There is a Tesco in Kilrush but it would be out of the way

The first night we are staying in Kilkee -- thats why I said Kilrush. I meant we will be in the Clare/Tipperary area for the duration of the trip.
