Internet access at Claridges

Claridges, and other Savoy hotels, list "infra red keyboard for internet access via TV." Does the hotel charge for this or is included in the $400 a night room charge?

ian,

I emailed Claridges and this is their response:

High speed internet access via laptop-17.50 GBP for 24 hours.
Same charge for infra red via TV for 24 hours.
Dial up via modem, normal telephone charge per minute.

Hope this helps.

Thank you nmguy. I emailed them and they did not respond. And I have a reservation!

If you used the Savoy toll-free reservations number to make that reservation call them and ask them specifically to check the policies and rates. They'll be happy to do so.

ian,

Your welcome. Have to admit I wasn't sure how quickly they would respond but it didn't take long at all. Maybe I hit them at the right moment. I emailed Claridge's directly (info@claridges). Did you email the Savoy Group or Claridge's, if I may ask?

ian,

Just had another thought. I don't know what operating system your using but this Windows worm that has been hitting the web caused different problems with different systems. Maybe it affected your email?

I noticed my filter gave me a warning on Tuesday about a "worm." I thought it had found it and deleted it but apparently this worm, while not particularly malicious in terms of file destruction, etc., is quite adept at jumping from file to file to prevent its deletion.

Anyway, have run a worm blaster and patch and things are running smoothly again. Perhaps you got hit by this worm too?
