The easyInternetcafe locations in Paris are indeed closed. There is nothing on the easyinternetcafe web site to indicate they will be reopening anytime soon.

That's interesting. I just went to the NYC Easy Internet place in Times Square and was surprised that it is half closed down.

Do a search here for "Paris internet". I posted this morning about a great new place in the 5th Rue St. Andre des Arts with English keyboards. Can't remember the name right now.

I just just checking my notes from our 2002 trip to Paris, as we're leaving again in two days, and here's an internet cafe not far from Rue Cler:

Cyber World Cafe, 20 rue de l'Exposition, open noon-10 p.m. (noon-8 p.m. Sundays and holidays). To get there from Rue Cler, walk toward Rue St. Dominique, turn left, cross Ave. Bosquet. Rue de l'Exposition is the first left.

I believe the charge was 7 Euros per hour.

Does anyone know of an internet place near Bastille?

We returned from 10 days in France just two days ago. Although I took with me an extensive list of possible places to find internet access, it turned out that the best thing to do is either 1) run across such a place while exploring a particular neighborhood, or 2) ask at the hotel. Using the first technique, we found internet places in Verdun (strolling the Quai de Londres, sightseeing) and just a block from our hotel in Paris near the Gare de Lyon. In Reims, we asked at the front desk, and were directed to a place just a few blocks away, near the Cathedral. They really are everywhere.

I'm still a bit nervous about being able to burn my digital photos from my smartMedia card directly to a CDRom. Anyone have experience with that?

Re burning CDs from a SmartMedia card:

I do it all the time and have never had a problem, but I have my laptop with me. Is that what you intend or were you planning to do this in a cybercafé? You certainly can do it in a camera store if you want to pay for it.

I strongly suggest you practice this at home so you are comfortable with the process before you waste vacation time trying to figure out what you are doing?
