Intermediate skiing near Geneva in February

Hi,

flying to Geneva with my husband for 4 nights on 20-24 February and would like to find a suitable resort within a reasonable distance from Geneva. My husband is proficient and I'm intermediate (ish) ...

Please can you recommend a resort with character and good dining options. (spa nearby would be a real bonus!) Also please suggest hotels.

Many thanks.

Katerina

We were in Villars-sur -Ollon last year in February. We were at Club Med resort (all inclusive) but there are plenty of more different hotels and chalet.

Here is the link of the place http://www.viamichelin.fr/viamicheli...-sur-ollon.htm

If you are interested, my DH wrote a trip reports

We also enjoyed The Bains de Lavey near by during our short 2 days previous visit

Happy skiing!

Nothing like that kind of resort really "nearby" - you either head into the French Alps, or past the other end of the lake. That's where Villars-sur-Ollon is, still in the Canton of Vaud.

Or go a bit further into the Canton of Valais/Wallis - google the names Montana/Crans and Verbier.

Then look to www.sbb.ch for trains and local transportation to get you up there.

Alternatives would be Chamonix and that whole French region.

Hi,

thank you so much for everyone's input, it is very helpful.

Matroskin, we are now looking at Villars, it seems like that kind of resort that would suit us. Many thanks for the tip.

No problem, Katerina!
Enjoy your skiing!
We'll probably be there in February - we loved the area!
Let me know if you have more questions.

Matroskin,

unfortunately it seems that Villars is not possible due to the fact that all hotels are either fully booked or require bookings for a minimum of 7 nights ... so we're now looking at Crans-Montana and found a lovely guesthouse. But thank you so much for your suggestion and we will keep it for future reference.
