Interesting Travel Survey of Americans

According to a survey of Americans by NFO Plog Travel Research, their most satisfying vacation experiences abroad in 2002 (the report measures trip satisfaction rather than number of visitors) were to the following destinations:<BR>1. Ireland<BR>2. Australia<BR>3. New Zealand<BR>4. Scotland<BR>5. English countryside/Wales<BR>6. Austria<BR>7. London<BR>8. Bermuda<BR>9. Eastern Europe<BR>10. Aruba<BR>11. Hong Kong<BR>12. Switzerland

Easy, sid, the interesting component would be the company that did this silly little survey. Who the hell are they anyway and who did they survey?

I wonder why Ireland came first.I think it may be partly related to the Bed and Breakfasts which bring people closer than they would get by staying in a hotel.

I wonder why Austria was the first non-english speaking country? Hmmm ,maybe I should check it out for my next trip!

Interesting that Italy did not make the list - wonder why? I have been to 6 of the 12 destinations mentioned and enjoyed Italy more than any of them.

I agree with that survey, I find the Irish by far to be the most friendly followed by England. Haven't visited Australia and New Zealand though. Love those accents, mate!
