Interesting sidetrips from Helsinki?

I will be in Helsinki,Finland for five days. I was wondering if anyone knows of any interesting sidetrips from Helsinki. I heard that you could go to Estonia. I would appreciate any ideas or suggestions for my trip.

Andrea, take the M/S J.L.Runeberg cruise to Porvoo, which is a nice and tranquil old town. <BR>http://www.msjlruneberg.fi/indexengelsk.html <BR> <BR>If you rent a car you could also drive to Fiskars, which is an old industrial town nowadays full with handicrafts and beautiful scenery. http://www.fiskarsvillage.net/index_e.html <BR> <BR>If you are a nature-lover, you could go for a small hike to Nuuksio National Park in Espoo. <BR>http://www.espoo.fi/matkailu/englanti/ <BR>Try the Leisure time and Programme services links. <BR> <BR>As Marc already mentioned, you can very easily get to Tallinn by hydrofoils (there are also some bigger ferries which tka about 4 hours). There is tourist info in Esplanad streer, right next to the Market square. They can advise you with the tickets as there are too many ferry companies to be listed here. <BR> <BR>Enjoy your stay here in Finland!

Petersburg is not an easy trip from Helsinki-you could take the train or fly, but remember you need a visa, and a sponsor, which needs to be arranged in advance. Certainly worth effort, though.

Take the ferry overnight to Stockholm. <BR>I went last year and it was a great time as was Stockholm. I took the line <BR>Silja. Have fun. I hear Tallinn is also a very interesting trip and a shorter trip.

A second for Porvoo, a charming little village.
