What is "inexpensive"? What do you want to do and on what budget?

You need to be more specific than Southern Germany, it's a huge country.

Hi A,

You will get more responses if you repost with "Southern Germany" in the title.

Addi: Welcome to Fodors! As you see - some people will open your thread even though it has about as vague a title as is possible.

Take a look at how other threads are titled. This is a VERY busy travel forum and "Information" will get buried in the volume of other threads. It could be asking anything about anywhere in all of Europe. Your "Information" is lumped in w/ posts about Scotland, and Iceland, and Greece and - well just everywhere. Clicking on "Germany" only lets people search for some of the many threads about Germany.

So - what to do about this? I would start a new thread w/ a title something like "Need help with Southern Germany". And when you do re-post, include info such as:

1) when you are going,
2) for how long
3) your budget (Inexpensive means different things to different people)
4) and narrow down what part(s) - if you know - of southern Germany

There are no inexpensive areas to stay in Germany IME - though the former DDR - east Germany can be much less expensive than the old West Germany.

Expenses as per stay vary as to type of hotel - pensions - guesthouses - B&Bs - campings, youth hostels, etc.
