Info on Luca with Hills and Roads

I have 2 days w/Luca planned in 2 weeks. I am trying to reconfirm all my reservations and after sending 3 e-mails in the past 2 weeks I have not heard back from him. Is anyone else having a problem getting in touch with him?
I would appreciate any feedback.

That's really odd. We had a great day out with him about two weeks ago. He always got right back to us when we had any queries. Check your email address (I know sometimes I mistype it in my address book and then keep using the wrong one) or try giving him a call.

Hi rparrott,

After seeing your post I sent an email to someone from our upcoming cruise that has a tour scheduled with Luca, to make sure she could get in contact with him.

She said she received an email from him just yesterday.

I also used Luca for two separate touring days about 3 months ago and LOVED it. I recently wrote to him and it took a LOOOONG time to get a reply. He apologized profusely and said he was so fully booked these last 2 weeks he barely had time to answer e-mails. Keep sending him a reminder with maybe "urgent - our reservations with you" in the title to get his attention. He is worth the effort. Hope you have a great time.

I wrote Luca on May 17, and just got an answer today. He apologized for taking so long.

P.S. He's unavailable for the time we'll be in Tuscany , but he offered to recommend a colleague.

Luca's colleague -Alex is also good guide, tells you so much in 5-6 hours you have on the road! Great service, great guide who tells all about italian history, history of the region, wine, exchange with you knowledge of italian culture , music-Luca will be a great person to get the news! He stops for a coffee in a village, takes you to St Gimagniano fortress, museum, monastery, lemon garden, winery (i was happy and a bit drunk after that), you can stop for a nice dinner (your own expense). I even saw Italian wedding on the street! Have lots of photos and lots of memories. Highly recommend! I had 2 days of touring (Sienna, Tuscany, winery)-great tour.

aura1234: Welcome to Fodors. Just a hint -- it isn't necessary to top all these very old threads about Lucca/Hills and Roads. The folks who asked no longer post on the forums and their trips were years ago.
