Looking for comments on any inexpensive hotels you may have stayed at in London - planning an Oct trip there

Try the Oak House Hotel, 29 Hugh Street, SW1V 1QJ, tel
01 834 7151 - Mrs. Symington keeps a clean and cozy
establishment. Singles start at L18 per night.

My favorite is the Ebury Court on Ebury Street in Belgravia. Within walking distance of Victoria Station. Not all rooms have private baths. Room #1 is particularly pleasant. Like staying at Grandma's house. No children under 6 allowed in dining rooms.

I WAS RATHER FOND OF A HOTEL WITHIN TWO BLOCKS OF THE BLOOMSBURY TUBE STATION, IT IS CALLED THE CELTIC. JUST A FEW STEPS AWAY FROM A VERY NICE PUB CALLED "THE FRIEND AT HAND"...RATES WERE QUITE REASONABLE AND INCLUDED BREAKFAST WHICH, CONSIDERING THE NATURE OF BRITISH FOOD, WAS PRETTY GOOD. ALSO STAYED AT A PLACE IN THE SAME NEIGHBORHOOD CALLED THE LONSDALE, BUT WERE VERY MUCH UNIMPRESSED.
