You will find that any bakery will have sandwiches that are excellent and reasonable and, for an inexpensive bratwurst, look for the local wurst stand which every city will have. The price of a McDonalds is among the top in the world when compared with other cities which obviously reflects the cost of living there.

Although "inexpensive food" in Switzerland is a bit of an oxymoron...do go the the food stands and pastry shops for sandwiches and picnic fixings. Grocery stores are great,too. Yes...picnic in your room some days and brave the outdoors for a picnic others...have a great time!
