In which order should I visit these cities in Spain?

Jerez-de-la-Frontera is a great easy day trip by train or car from Seville - town just so-so but fancy sherry houses to tour and sample the wares and practice sessions of behemoth Andalusian Horses many days in local arena.
Wow what a wonderful trip - very uncoventional - great really awesome!

It really depends on what you want!
· 4 nights with a side trip to Segovia would seem to give you only 2 days in Madrid, less than half of what I wanted; YMMV.
· A single side trip to include Avila and Salamanca? I thought Salamanca alone worth at least 2 full days.
· And I wanted more than 2 full days in Toledo.
· Personally, I would not think 5 nights in Sevilla, to include time in Cordoba, too much. Again, YMMV.
· I wouldn’t keep a car while in Sevilla.

As PalenQ mentioned, Jerez is a great daytrip from Seville. We took the train from Seville and enjoyed the horse show, lunch and a sherry tasting before returning by bus in the late afternoon. It was a great day!

Car helpful in Seville - why? - Seville is a large city where driving is hectic and if day tripping trains and buses are great. If not doing two days of day trips IME 3 days in Seville would be enough -maybe put a day into Madrid - and to do Avila and Salamanca in one day trip is not a good idea IMO - how close are they but even if were near each other both, especially Salamanca deserves a full day - Avila to me was nice as any Spanish town but not nearly as whatever as Salamanca.

Okay, no car in Seville and we will separate Ávila and Salamanca.. If we have time for only one we will do Salamanca. If hunting takes less time than we have scheduled we will fit a night in Cordova. If we do that, what other side trip should we do from Seville besides Jerez. I definitely want to do that.

How could we possibly know what you "should" do? If you don't already have them, you might consult the Michelin Green Guide or Rough Guide, either of which will provide reasonably comprehensive information about your options.

KJA, I have, of course purchased several books on Spain and am doing extensive research. However, I always enjoy getting replies from fellow Fodorites and hearing what experience they have enjoyed.
