I'm trying to send a fax to a hotel in Lisbon and am so frustrated!

For several days, I've been trying to send a fax to the Clarion Suites in Lisbon to make reservations. I re-set the fax machine for "overseas" and mode "on" as the instructions say. Then, I've tried dialing "011" and the country code and the rest of the number. No success. I also left out the "011" or tried just "00" followed by the country code, etc. No success.

Has anyone run into problems trying to send a fax to Lisbon? Any suggestions? I don't want to send the credit card information via e-mail.

Thanks for your help, as always!

It must be (intl prefix)35121xxxxxxx. International prefix is whatever you dial in your country to get an international line.

I have no concern about sending cc info by email. I am protected from unauthorized use of the number ($0 liability).

With billions of email sent around the world every day, one random email is no less secure than handing over your credit card to some random merchant, either in the US or overseas.

Have you tried to simply call the hotel and give them the credit card info?

Thanks, Lobo, for your response. I'm pretty sure that the international code for the US in "011" which is what I've been dialing. Maybe the Clarion is just really busy!

Thanks also for all the wonderful information that you have posted. We are looking forward to being in Lisbon at the end of December (if I can ever get this fax sent to the hotel!!)

Thanks again, Lobo. That is so kind of you to verify the phone number. Thanks for taking the time to do that.
