An interior piece is one that is used to complement an interior design scheme. For instance, large contemporary spaces may have a Rothko style canvas adorning a wall, merely made up for effect rather than being of any artistic merit.

Turner, Monet, etc. their paintings have allegorical depths which you clearly do not appreciate.

You are after something you like to look at, not think about, hence it is a pretty picture, nothing more, nothing less.

Obxgirl, my dear, I am being honest and educational, informing people as regards the difference between pretty pictures and art.

This kind of picture is worthless in both money terms and that of artistic merit, I wouldn't waste your time with it.

Hello, Elaine
Here's a link to an artist that seems to meet your wants.
http://perso.club-internet.fr/cope.adam/oils/index3.htm

Here is another link to a plein aire society with members from all over the world including Italy and France.
If you don't find something you love, let me know as I have many sources. I have paintings from all over the world in my home. They never fail to stir me.
Best wishes for finding a piece of art that you love.

btw, m kingdom, What a load of drivel!
It's obvious you know nothing of Art.

http://nappap.org/ is the organization for artists that paint en plein aire. I thought I had put it in my last post.
The Impressionists were plein aire painters. They sought to capture the moment when painting. Monet used to have his staff rotate his paintings every 20 minutes as the light changed that much on his subject. He worked on several paintings at a time as you probably know if you've seen his large collection of the haystacks or water lillies.
Of course, he falls into the modern art category not contemporary. Nevertheless, do give the website above a look and let us know how you fare.
Best Wishes for you in your quest.
