I'll be back . . .

I first traveled across the Atlantic Ocean in 2002 to the UK and since then I've had the wonderful experience of returning to the UK twice and then Italy and France. Each time, i've always made a point of trying to spend my pounds and euros before I leave each respective country with the thought that this is a trip in a lifetime.

I'm traveling to Paris with my dearest sister in April after my first trip there last year. I have determined that never will I accept my previous philosophy of 'this will be my last trip.' I will tuck away any unspent euros and believe in my heart that I will return so long as I am able.

My sister is 71 years old and has never been to Paris. I've been on a very short visit last year. We are ardently looking forward to this trip even though the euro is rising against the dollar. If we don't do it now, we may never have the chance. Circumstances of our lives have proved this to be true.

Damn the torpedoes. Full steam ahead.

Good for both of you! Have a great time, and let us know how it went. None of us ever know which will be the trip of a lifetime.

Fab! I am travelling with my sister this April to Paris too, although we will later be going to Brussels and Geneva too!!! And guess what i am making use of the Unspent Euros that i tucked away on my last trip to Vienna, although i had written off travel to Europe and thought would add it to my Coin collection ( Got some unspent pounds from my previous trip to London..lol)

Have a nice time and make the best of it!

Totally agree. My philosophy is travel now because who knows what the future brings. I always bring back Euros since I will be using them for many years. I'm happy to have them when I transit through a country that uses Euros to a country that doesn't use them. I can easily buy a coffee or quick snack without having to find an ATM machine.

I was recently going through my travel folder from last year's trip and found E40 tucked in with my papers! What a find.
