If you were me, where would you go?

Hey Fodorites- So, Ive spent the past almost-year living in Barcelona, but I've barely travelled! As my time here comes to a close, Im trying to squeeze in a few trips. I still work 4 days a week (M-Th), so Im looking for long weekend trips, and nowhere too expensive. Ive done London, Paris, Nice, Amsterdam, Brussels, Bruges, Rome, Florence, Venice, Cinque Terre, and am doing Sevilla and Provence with friends soon. So, Im thinking about Prague, Dublin, Granada, and any other brilliant suggestions you Fodorites might have for me! Places easy to fly to are a super-plus. Thanks in advance for the input!

Assuming that you are still in Barcelona, how would you rate The Ritz and The Claris and Hotel Arts?

If I traveled as much as you - I would stay home for a long time ... next to my swimming pool, BBQing with friends telling them all about my traveling...

Not that I've been to all of these places --

Obvious omissions:

Portugal

Germany/Austria/Poland/Czech Republic (Prague on your list)/Hungary/etc.

Switzerland

Split + Dubrovnik

Scandinavia

Greece (Athens, islands)

Still lots of places, cherikm. Have lots of fun!

The part of Spain that has always appealed to my imagination is Andalucia, so I'd hate to be living in Spain for a year and miss seeing this part of it. I was in Spain only once, a long time ago, and mainly in Andalucia. I loved it. If you are at all like me, I think you should see Granada and Sevilla as soon as possible, so that if you really love them, you will still have time to return repeatedly before you return to your home country. You shouldn't leave Spain without seeing the Alhambra! (Just typing this is reminding me that at the time my very superficial trip I said to myself that I wanted to go back to this region of Spain, but I still haven't, because I'm usually focused on Italy.) I had only a very quick visit to Cordoba, but I think that also very much deserves a longer visit. I also loved Ronda. Maybe you'd also like to see Malaga.

In addition to Andalucia, I really enjoyed seeing Segovia, and I'd recommend that you go there, too. I was not too enthusiastic about Madrid. Other parts of Spain that I've never seen, but that might be interesting, are the Basque/Pyrennes area and Galicia. I assume that you've already traveled around Catalonia quite a bit (I've never been there).

I agree with the previous poster. Alhambra is a must and I loved Toledo, Cordoba, Ronda, parts of Malaga (esp. the Museo Picasso--if you like modern art) and the white villages. Also, I've heard great things about Segovia, Salamanca, Leon area. Seems you're close enough to do long weekend trips to many of these places and you can get some great airfares on iberia.

This is a Europe board but I would at least try to get to northern Africa. Marrakesh, Casablanca, Algiers, Cairo and the rest of Egypt come to mind.
