Ideas for Summer Trip
Hello,
Three friends in their mid 20's are planning to take a 2 week trip this summer. Any suggestions for a fun, not too expensive destination with goods, sights, food and nightlife. Have already been to Italy, Ireland, Greece, London. Two people have enough frequent flyer miles with United for a roundtrip ticket (50,000 miles). Any suggestions would be appreciated

If you can arrange it, go before June. Our experience is that after school is out, all the French go to London, and all the english go to France..We were in London past June, and the streets were so dirty, crowds so thick, that we couldn't get anywhere. My suggestion is to go to Spain, as they are very nocturnal people, and will party all night. Restaurants don't even open until 9 or 10. Lots of little "Pensions".

MJ, Let the voice of experience and
pragmatism advise that you should start
with your United options---where do they
go and what is available for freebies
on what dates---it ain't always easy.
Good prices, good food, lots of young
people and nitelife---Hmmmm.
You just described Prague--hard to beat.
But, if UAL skips Prague then fly into
Munich for 3 days, train to Prague for
6 days, and then train back via Vienna
and Salzburg. That gives you 4 great
destinations in 2 weeks and a tight
itinerary. I love Spain/ Portugal but
not in the summer. Good luck---can I go along as your Dad??

I recommend Spain. It's cheap, the food is good, and the nightlife is out of this world! I went to Madrid with 2 well seasoned NYC club kids and even they were amazed at how much Spanish people partied! We rolled into our hotel dead tired at 6:30am and our Spanish friends were still trying to convince us to go to another club that opened at 7:00am! Good luck!
