I'd like to visit Sicily

Hi guys,
I am planning a trip to Italy to visit Sicily and I was looking for a reliable tour operator to rely on for my vacation. I found a website called Italy Tours
http://italy-tours.jimdo.com where they offer tours and trips throughout Italy and I wanted to ask if someone has already tried them out and what your opinion is.
Thanks a lot in advance

This doesn't look like a fully escorted tour but a series of city/town tours which means you will have to get to the towns that they cover.

For instance, the Trapani tour seems like it leaves from Trapani as you arrive in Erice in 30 minutes. They say pick you up from your accommodation but that couldn't include Palermo as it takes more than 30 minutes from Palermo to Erice.

I guess if you're in the towns where they have tours you could book them but you'll need to get there and book your own accommodation.

I'm sure there are lots of local tours you can take. I've never heard of this organization so I can't comment on the quality of their guides or their reputation.

hi, i live in Malta so Sicily is just a stone throe away for me and been visiting the lovely island for years by now.

My suggestion is that you split Sicily in two. The eastern part is more touristic and hectic for me whilst the western part is slow moving with a lot of interesting places to see. I love the western part so much that ended up buying a cottage there, the people are nicer and more welcoming whilst the food had a thousand flavors. The eastern part would have been much more reachable from malta but i find it has too much traffic, noise and tourists. Having said this, both sides have their enchantments.

I have just finished a 7 day itinerary which i will post for the western part covering the province of Trapani.

Coming back to the main point of this e mail, from Trapani there are different tour operators which i have suggested past guests. Out of all of them i was satisfied with two , one who works for himself.....making himself a taxi driver, a guide and knows well the area but the prices has to be talked over with him ( can only send his Facebook ) , and an other organized tour operator with fixed prices starting from 40 euros a day according to the places one wants to visit. The tours can be chosen guided or not. This operator always offers me a 10% for the people which i send him, but i prefer that the guests i send him get the 10% discount themselves.

We did a small group ten day tour of Sicily in April and were very pleased with the company.
Take a look at their site-Sicily-tour.com.

This is a local company and the tours are for small groups. the tours are in English and
Start from Siracusa. we normally travel on our own but decided that Sicily was best done with a group.
good luck!
