ml15 - Wow after Turkey, I would think that Calabria would be a breeze. From my experience in Puglia which admittedly is a little skewed since I was traveling with a friend that grew up there, it seemed like it would be easier to travel alone there than Rome or Florence. There was none of that overt forwardness from the men that I find is common in the more touristic cities. Just normal people. It was funny when we got into Rome for my last day, I swear I got the stare down by 2 guys before we even made it out of the train station and I couldn't help but laugh. All I could think was "Yup, I am back in the Italy I know!" Now I haven't ever researched traveling Calabria, but I guess I am trying to say is that you should consider going there no matter what you hear. Now I would love to go to Turkey, but I don't think I would do it on my own.

No. I wouldn't recommend going to Turnkey alone. The men are very forward. I was getting hit on non-stop and I am in my 50's. You wouldn't stand a chance! Ha
Thanks for the vote of confidence on Calabria. I think I will do it. What do I have to lose? Right.
